Our Beginning

We met online, and had our first date (drinks) at The Cadillac Lounge in downtown Toronto on June 19th, 2014. We quickly bonded over our shared family cottages on the shores of Lake Huron, and our similar upbringing. Bill knew he wanted to see Michelle again after she drank her beer faster than him, and Michelle knew she wanted to see him again because he kept her laughing all night long. We instantly had our own inside jokes and got along so well. We quickly followed with more dates to see a Blue Jays game and then Bill took Michelle to an all Vegetarian restaurant and sent flowers to her office the very next day – and that’s when she knew he was a keeper ;)

Moving in Together

After 8 months of packing overnight bags, Michelle making the long haul out to Scarborough, and making plans to hang out on an almost daily basis, we realized it might make more sense to have a place of our own together. We moved into our Annex apartment in downtown Toronto. Bill quickly learned to appreciate the necessity of cleaning the apartment on at least a bi-weekly basis, and Michelle soon realized the value of having a solid video game collection (well... we're working on it).

The Proposal

Bill proposed while we were on vacation together in Europe. We were sailing along the Amsterdam canals on a beautiful nighttime cruise and we had just had a perfect day, biking through the city and enjoying an amazing local meal. We decided to go to the back of the boat to get a better view and a photo together, and Bill got down on one knee as our photo was being taken. We will always cherish having this moment captured (even if half the photos are un-usable because Michelle was crying like a baby).
